Contact Joshuah

Dr. Joshuah Jackson is a licensed Acupuncture Physician, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and NCCAOM Board Certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine serving in the state of Florida.

Dr. Jackson has always had a passion for healthcare and it was that passion that lead her to pursue Oriental medicine. After a rigorous course of study, she graduated Suma Cum Laude from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine in 2014 ready to serve those communities in need.  Later she received her doctoral degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.

I can see the positive impact this medicine has had on the lives of others, sometimes when they have had no other means of help. I absolutely love this medicine and would like to do my part to support the profession because I want to see our profession grow and thrive. Serving on the board would be a great way to carry out this mission and impact the AOM field on a larger scale than what I could on my own by actively participating in FSOMA’s mission and serving my community and fellow practitioners. I see FSOMA is a platform to spread the message of AOM's safety, efficacy, and effectiveness, protect the practice of AOM, and hopefully transform the landscape of healthcare here in Florida. Being a part of the board means being a part of something larger than me and doing my part to make a greater impact for our profession, first in Florida and through the US as well.

Gretchen Gonzalez, AP
Conference Committee Chair

Contact Gretchen
Originally from Massachusetts, Gretchen Gonzalez had been a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in private practice in Albuquerque, NM since 2008, and in 2017 she moved to Jacksonville, FL with her husband and became an Acupuncture Physician, beginning her new practice here on the east coast.

I see practitioners of Chinese Medicine in the U.S. to be at a critical point in our growth as a professional group. The demand for our services is growing rapidly and the integration of acupuncture as a service offered more and more within the western medical world, I feel that the need is great right now for more professional interaction among acupuncturists and more collaboration to make sure that we who are doing the work are having a voice and an impact on how our profession is represented and included in the mainstream.

As acupuncturists, we tend to end up more isolated than we need to be, working in our private practices and always feeling too overwhelmed by keeping up with our own lives personally and professionally to be active and involved in our professional organizations and our communities. I am sad to have been one of those who shied away from engaging in the professional organizations that were there to look out for us because I thought I was too busy in the past and I don’t want to continue making excuses. I just want to be a part of the good work that needs to be done by offering my service to FSOMA.

Omar Haye, MD, DOM
Membership Committee

I came to TCM as a last resort for treatment following a severe injury that occurred while I was serving as an Army Officer.  Prior to that I had graduated from medical school and was serving at Public Health Command (Regin South) in Texas.  I did not know much of anything about the field, but it was a recommendation over surgical intervention.  I had an amazing outcome, and I was inspired to deviate my career path.  It was an enormous leap of faith, but it stands out as one of the best decisions of my entire life!

I am committed to the promotion and betterment of acupuncture and TCM.  The best way to affect meaningful change and growth is by understanding the state of our field at a macroscopic level and FSOMA is the place to do that.  They have a strong track record at both the legislative and grass-roots levels of always putting acupuncture first.  It is the type of professional organization that I can feel proud of and any opportunity to help it grow is an opportunity that is too big to let pass by
