2021 THames Scholarship winners

SEPTEMBER 23, 1950 – NOVEMBER 8, 2017
Lynn H. Thames, of Apopka, Florida, passed away on November 8, 2017. She was born in Mineola, New York on September 23, 1950, and graduated from Martha Washington College with a Bachelor of Arts. She earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the National College of Oriental Medicine. In Lynn's career, she was a Professional Girl Scout, a
Mental Health Counselor, an Acupuncture Physician, and most recently a Medical Educator.
She served on the Board of Directors of the Florida State Oriental Medical Association (FSOMA) and was a member of the Central Florida Orchid Society.
Lynn had a passion for orchids, outdoor activities, music, and the arts, and fostered a great love for children. Lynn married Marna Rasmussen on April 22, 1995, and is survived by Marna, Lynn's father, Duyane Hoffman and stepmother Nancy Hoffman, her sisters Kathy Thomas and her husband Dale, Sue Hoffman, Laura Hoffman, Nancy Lee Grassi and her husband Dave, niece Jenna Lauer and her husband Jeremy Weinburg, and her nephew Cory Thomas
