Free Webinar on Artificial Intelligence for Functional Medicine(no CEU)

I was talking with Charles Bens (PhD in Nutrition and former professor at East West College in Sarasota) at a holiday party and learned about this powerful tool for developing lifestyle, supplement and nutritional recommendations to our patients. I really think it has a lot of potential for our profession.  Neither FSOMA nor I have any business or monetary association with these presenters but we are taking registration for it.

Learn about a system designed by Dr. Joe Pizzorno to facilitate collection of health data, generate predictive trends in the patient’s health and make diet, lifestyle, nutritional, functional medicine recommendations for improving their health to avoid chronic disease.  This evaluation tool is like having 1000 specialists and 25,000 research papers in your pocket.

  1. Relationship between doctor and patient improves as they each see the information and can discuss treatment options. Patient much more involved.
  2. The basic HRA can be augmented by up to ten more detailed HRA’s which drill down for more assessment factors for each chronic disease.
  3. The probability factor is specific for each individual. This makes successful treatment much more likely.
  4. This accuracy leads to better treatments, with less wasted time reassessing when treatments don’t work the first or second time.
  5. From a business perspective, this will lead to happier patients and many more referrals by them.

The Dr Pizzorno AI/ES is a system designed to identify and address the unique patterns of bodily dysfunction in order to restore balance and optimize health. It does this through a unique artificial intelligence system that collects health information, and builds a highly personalized step-by-step action plan to address those dysfunctions.

When a patient enters their family history, current condition and even their zip code, it creates an overall picture of body functions. The program then gives predictive factors for the probability of developing disease in the future.  E.g. certain enzyme markers can indicate the future development of diabetes or other chronic diseases.  Adding genetic information can deepen this predictability. Even the zip code adds data on specific toxins known to be part of the patient’s environment.  More data can be added using up to 200 other tests like 1,2,3,*Me

  • There will be discussion of how the functional medicine component of this system addresses the physiology of the patient.
  • Even zip codes are taken into account based on data about different environmental toxins in different geographical areas.
  • The treatments provided by the system report include diet changes, lifestyle modification, nutritional supplementation, and herbal medicines.

The Dr Pizzorno AI/ES works on an artificial intelligence system called a Bayesian inference engine. This type of artificial intelligence is much smarter and more intuitive than the usual rules-based programs. The Bayesian system allows us to use the information you know, and make predictions about the information that you do not have available. It also allows us to tailor our questionnaires to meet unique needs.

Every time a patient clicks a button to tell us more about themselves the program instantly makes predictions about more than a thousand different potential predictors of health status. Examples of these predictions include:

  • Do I get enough folic acid from my diet?
  • Are my detoxification enzymes working properly?
  • Would taking ginseng be beneficial?

Although this may sound complicated, the Dr Pizzorno AI/ES is very easy to use. The questionnaires are easy to follow, and there are instructions each step along the way.

Are the Conclusions of the Dr Pizzorno AI/ES Valid?

The Dr Pizzorno AI/ES is based on an artificial intelligence platform that has been validated in a number of conventional medical settings. To our knowledge, however, we are the first and only research group to apply this methodology to self-care and disease prevention.

Each logic step in our chain is supported by published research from the National Library of Medicine. Users can check the logic and read the supporting research each step along the way.
